In July 2014, NSF announced that a collaborative team of mathematicians at the Center for Computational Mathematics at UCSD had received a 5-year $1.8M NSF Research Training Group (RTG) Award. The Award supports an Interdisicplinary Research Training Group in Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, and Mathematical Physics, and will fund up to four UCSD Mathematics doctoral students participating in the CSME Doctoral Program, as well as provide funding for up to two named CCoM Postoctoral Fellowships, each year of the award.
