As part of a new NSF FRG Award involving UCSD, Caltech, and CSU,
in 2011-2012 we are running a seminar series/reading course in the
overlapping areas of mathematical and numerical general relativity (MNGR).
We are planning for about 6-8 talks to be spread throughout the Fall 2011
quarter, with a few additional seminars in the Spring 2012 quarter,
depending on the travel schedules of some key participants.
(There will be no seminars in the Winter quarter.)
Some of the talks will be streamed via Evo to (or from) remote participants
at CSU (Colorado) and SAMSI (North Carolina), and in these cases
we will try to post MP4/M4V audio/video captures of the Evo-hosted talks as
links at the bottom of the abstract for the particular talk.
The MNGR talks each week are listed below, and will be announced on the
CCoM Website.
The time and place for the MNGR Seminars will usually be 11am Thursdays
in AP&M 2402 (unless listed otherwise).
We are also running a related UCSD workshop and multi-part minisymposium
at the SIAM PDE Conference in November; see the
GPDE2011
website.
In May 2012, we will hold the Southern California Analysis and Partial
Differential Equations Conference (SCAPDE) at UCSD, with a
focus on mathematical and numerical general relativity; see the
SCAPDE
website.
