  • Grades for the letter grade (qualifying exam) option are based on homework (25%), and the final exam (75%). Grades for the S/U option are based on homework (100%).
  • The final exam is Tuesday, December 12, 11:30-2:30. Those taking the S/U option are exempt from the final exam.
  • Office hours are 4:00-5:00 Tuesday, AP&M 5771.

Mathematics 270ABC will be divided into six blocks, each approximately five weeks, surveying major topics in Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computation.
  • Numerical Linear Algebra for Dense Matrices (270A)
  • Numerical Linear Algebra for Sparse Matrices (270A)
  • Nonlinear Equations and Optimization (270B)
  • Approximation Theory (270B)
  • Initial Value Problems for Ordinary Differential Equations (270C)
  • Two Point Boundary Value Problem for Ordinary Differential Equations (270C)
