Geometric Mechanics and PDE

Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss the basic ideas of Lagrangian and Hamiltonian
mechanics and discuss how ``nice'' integrators can be derived using
mechanics. I will discuss why these integrators are nice and how they fit
with PDE.
